How do I get my book sold in Large bookstores?

Posted on June 4th, 2010 in book distributors by

I self-published my book, but I have a distributor. I’d like to find out how I could get my business book sold in places like Barnes & Noble and Borders. I’ve already sold over 14,000 copies on my own! Is there anything I can do to get them to buy it? Thanks!

How do bookstores determine the prices for their book products?

Posted on May 31st, 2010 in book distributors by

It is established that bookstores are oligopolistic. Oligopolistic industries are price takers and not price dictaters. So how do bookstores determine the prices for their book products? Is there a SRP, standard retail price, that distributors tell them (the bookstores) to follow? What are the mechanics for instituting a price for a book?
what i meant was, before distributors release the book, how do bookstores determine the price of their books…. pls read and analyze the question first before giving out irrelevant answers that does not have anything to do with economics…

Bookkeeping Question for people know as Independent Distributors?

Posted on May 27th, 2010 in book distributors by

I’m new to the world of direct selling. I picked up a book on bookkeeping. The books talks about “Cash” or “Accrual” accounting. Which is the one Independent Distributors use? My understanding of this type of home business is considered “direct selling”. I’m planning on getting commisions through a web page and buying product at a discount (keeping inventory on hand) and reselling at the market price.
Thanks for your imput.

Why are wholesale distributors so hard to find on search engines?

Posted on May 19th, 2010 in book distributors by

I have a business and every time I type in Wholesale Distributors I mostly get links to membership dropshipping or something like that. I need to know of a resource (book, directory) or something that I can contact a distributor or manufacturer themselves to conduct my business.
