How can I protect myself from Identity Theft in a group?

someone is taking claim to be me and saying things I wouldn’t. How do I stop this Imposter?
I shouldn’t have to give up my namesake because of a thief. This individual needs one for one’s own identity, not mine or anyone else’s.

Alternatives to pleading guilty to a 3rd degree retail fraud?

If I do everything in my power to prove to the court that I have taken responsibility for what happened, such as taking a crime prevention class, community service, letters of recommendations, and it is my first offense ever, what are some alternatives to actually getting convicted of the crime? I can get a deferred sentence i know, i know i can get it dropped somehow, but is there anything else? can i get a reduced sentence to a civil infraction or something? this is in michigan and i am 21

How can my company make our loss prevention seminar more spicey?

Right now we have a few boring keynote speakers and we need to make it “sexy”, spice it up a bit and make it fun. What kind of ideas do you have to make this a successful seminar?

It is about retail loss (shoplifting, employee theft, vendor fraud, etc) We are doing a “shoplifting fashion show” and i think that will spice things up, but we need more ideas!
The seminar is all day, 3 keynote speakers with 2 workshop sessions, lunch and two exhibitor breaks. We need something in between the speakers to wake people back up :)

We need something that will drive in the people so they want to come back next year!

How long does a public record stay on your credit report once it has been paid?

Thanks to credit monitoring, I discovered that a law firm was issued a judgement against me for a payment that I made 5 years ago. The judgement was for $1350 and was awarded to the plaintiff on 10/25/2006. I just found out about this on December 12, 2006 because my credit monitoring service alerted me to it. The law firm and courts have been sending correspondence to an address that I have not lived at for three years, thus I had no way of knowing this was taking place. Given that I don’t have the receipts (I lost them in one of my relocations), i felt it was best to settle the case with the firm. The settlement came to $900 and I agreed to pay it as part of a payment plan. How long will this stay on my credit report once it has been satisfied?

I’m so confused with this email I got from ebay?

I just won an auction today on ebay, and its the first time i’ve been using ebay ever, so I dont really understand how things work. However, i’d been having a fine transaction, the seller and i had messaged about the product, but now i receieved an email from ebay saying:
Dear leighaR,

We are writing to let you know that the listing for the item you bid on has been removed.
We strongly recommend that you do not complete this purchase. Purchases of items listed on eBay but then completed outside of eBay are extremely risky. They are not covered by eBay buyer protection programs and are highly susceptible to fraud.

Is it possible that since the auction was over, it was removed? Or is this fraud and should i be calling my credit card company and contacting paypal? What’s going on!? Please help!

My son had his identity stolen last year and the guy was caught, but he still gets stopped from time to time at airports when checking in for a flight. He was given a password by the police to show that he was the victim, not the theif. The police told him the problem may never go away.
